Implications for Cancer Registrars (8th Edition)

Dr. Greene reviews the new TNM staging strategies that will become effective with the implementation of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, Eighth Edition. He outlines the changes that directly affect the cancer registrar’s responsibilities regarding reviewing patient records, collecting patient data, and coding of abstracts. Dr. Greene reviews the new prognostic and biologic factors that directly affect stage groups. Specific cancer sites are also be discussed.

Dr. Greene is the Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Cancer Data Registry for the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC. He directed the Surgical Oncology Program at the University of South Carolina prior to serving as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Residency Program Director at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC from 1997 to 2012. He received his MD from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA.
