The year 2018 saw significant changes to the collection of cancer registry data. Will those changes jeopardize the ability to compare data from one year to the next? Vicki Hawhee, MEd, CTR will focus on ways that one can continue to compare the data from years past to future years. Highlights will include identifying the major differences in the data collected and ways registrars can “redefine” what they are looking for by getting back to the basics.
- Delineate major differences between 2018 and pre-2018 data.
- Review what data items have not changed and are still easily compared.
- Identify what data items may need to be redefined in order to compare pre-2018 to 2018 and later.
