Addressing Challenges in the Abstract: Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors

Dr. Niraj Gusani will discuss the differences in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs) and how they form in cells of the pancreas and the variety of functional pancreatic NETs. He will also address relevant lab tests and imagining tests used in the process to diagnose NETs, treatments that affect prognosis, and the challenges that are considerations for staging.

Niraj Gusani, MD, MS, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained surgical oncologist with more than 15 years of experience in all aspects of cancer surgery. A former tenured professor and an active researcher, his areas of expertise include liver, bile ducts & gallbladder diseases and pancreatic diseases. Dr. Gusani received his MD at University of Pennsylvania and did his residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
