Mentoring in the CTR Profession: Four Areas You Should Know
One of the best ways to promote a career in the cancer registry and combat a misconception that CTRs are glorified data entry people, is by mentoring new and future registrars. Toni Hare, RHIT, CTR, will discuss four important areas for mentors to address with mentees that dispel the preconceptions and help them become professionals in the specialty to which they aspire. Hare will address the important role an experience CTR mentor plays, how CTRs can get involved as a mentor, and will share real-life experiences from mentor and mentee perspectives.
