Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for Cancer Registrars
The Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) protects individually identifiable health information. All healthcare workers need to have a clear understanding of what is considered confidential information. This online course is intended to review HIPAA-related law regarding health issues, civil vs.criminal law, protection of cancer data confidentiality, the transmission, and the release of cancer registry data. To successfully complete this course a score of 7% or higher must be achieved on the final exam.
