Beyond the Cancer Registry: The Value of CTR Skills
CTRs have invested in a lot of education and have given a lot of energy to develop and hone the skills needed to be successful in the field of cancer registry and cancer surveillance. The Panel will discuss options for cancer registrars with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) that they have mastered in the field of cancer registry, which would be appropriate for positions other than those in a hospital registry.

Cari Vida, RHIA, CTR is currently the Senior Quality Education Director for Registry Partners. She has served in various leadership positions with Registry Partners for the past 12+ years. Cari has also served as a member of the NCRA Education Committee.
Cathryn E. Phillips, BA, CTR

Cathryn E. Phillips, BA, CTR, is the Manager of the Connecticut Tumor Registry and Public Health Service Manager and Registrar of Tumor Records in the Department of Public Health for the State of Connecticut. Cathryn is responsible for operational oversight & management of the CTR's NCI-SEER contract and the reporting & analysis of cancer data.

Ronda Broome serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Abstraction at Syapse, a healthcare technology company dedicated to extinguishing the fear and burden of serious disease by advancing real-world care. She combines an exceptional ability to foster positive relationships with providers and teams with her leadership prowess and vibrant energy. Broome holds an MS in Biology/Bioinformatics from Georgia State University and an MS in Healthcare Management and Informatics from Kennesaw State University. She dedicates her time to volunteering with the Georgia Tumor Registrars Association and NCRA. Broome is the chair of NCRA’s National Cancer Registrars Week (NCRW) Committee and serves as an active member of several other NCRA committees, including Informatics, Ethics, and Membership.
