Abstracting Case Scenarios: Head & Neck Cancer

Dr. Lydiatt will present a head and neck cancer case scenario and discuss the complex anatomical site and the connections to nearby structures that may be affected. He will explain what is involved in the clinical and pathological staging workup and provide surgical options and treatment modalities for the diagnosis.

William Lydiatt, MD, FACS Instructor

Dr. Lydiatt is a head and neck surgical oncologist serving at the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He specializes in the surgical treatment of thyroid and parathyroid disease, salivary gland tumors and cancers of the mouth. He has practiced head and neck surgery for over 25 years. Dr. Lydiatt also serves as the Vice President of the American Head and Neck Society, as a Professor of Surgery at Creighton University, a Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology at the United States Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, and a lecturer at the University of Nebraska. He is the current Chair of 9th Edition AJCC Head and Neck Staging Committee and serves on the Editorial Board for the AJCC Manual on Cancer Staging.
