Presented by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), this webinar will provide an overview of how SNOMED CT aligns with CAP electronic Cancer Protocols (eCPs) to support standardized cancer registry data collection and abstraction, while demonstrating how SNOMED CT–encoded pathology data can improve the accuracy, consistency, and quality of registry reporting. Participants will also gain practical knowledge on accessing, querying, and utilizing structured SNOMED CT–encoded cancer data to support registry operations, research activities, quality improvement initiatives, and broader data-driven efforts in cancer surveillance and patient care.

Eric Daley, MS, PA (ASCP)CM, is Director of the Cancer Protocols Product Line at the College of American Pathologists (CAP). He oversees the strategic direction, development, and implementation of CAP Cancer Protocols and related digital products that support standardized cancer reporting worldwide. With expertise spanning pathology informatics, oncology data standards, and implementation of synoptic reporting, Mr. Daley collaborates with pathologists, healthcare organizations, software vendors, and standards-development partners to advance structured pathology reporting and interoperability. His work focuses on improving the quality, consistency, and usability of cancer data to support patient care, clinical research, quality improvement, and population health initiatives.
Walter Campbell, PhD, MBA Instructor

Walter Scott Campbell, PhD, serves as Enterprise Strategist for International Terminology & Data Services at the College of American Pathologists (CAP). In this role, he leads strategic initiatives focused on healthcare data standards, terminology management, interoperability, and the advancement of digital pathology and oncology reporting solutions. Dr. Campbell works closely with industry, standards organizations, and healthcare technology partners to promote the adoption of structured data and semantic interoperability across the cancer care continuum. His work supports the development and implementation of CAP digital products and data assets that enable more consistent, computable, and actionable pathology information for clinical care, research, and public health.
